A couple of weeks ago, I was invited to a special bloggers’ brunch at one of my favorite restaurants, Fig & Olive, with the team behind Diamonds Unleashed by Kara Ross to unveil two new fine jewelry collections. Diamonds Unleashed by Kara Ross was started by Kara Ross, a renowned veteran in the jewelry industry, in partnership with CanadaMark, to bring conflict-free diamonds to woman all over the world. What is unique about the brand apart from its conflict-free stance is that although it is selling diamonds, its main focus is to empower women – to encourage women to buy their own fine jewelry, and in particular diamonds, without relying on a man, and to support each other along the way. The fine jewelry showing focused on two separate collections – the first of which was a series of diamond rings, in non-traditional and intricate settings, and the second of which was a collection titled #ShesBrilliant, a collection of diamond jewelry which is sold exclusively at Neiman Marcus (pictured below).
The lovely Kara Ross, whom I had the opportunity to meet in person at the event, closed down all of her other jewelry lines to focus solely on Diamonds Unleashed because she cares so much about the message of empowerment and celebrating that “women, like diamonds, are brilliant, multi-faceted and unbreakable”. She felt that it was important to have a broad range of diamond products available to all women, and the price point of the products are indicative of this goal, with prices ranging from just $100 to $32,000. When speaking with Kara at the event, I could feel her passion and commitment to her brand and message in every word that she said.
Even the logo for the brand was well thought out and furthers the message that Kara Ross is trying to convey. It consists of two diamonds, one resting on top of the other, resulting in a heart, which is meant to “visually express the symbolism of a diamond, freeing it to celebrate the combination of women’s independence and solidarity”. What more perfect way to showcase that intent than by bringing together a group of women who are all about independence in that they chose a career of blogging and who are always united in the blogging world in solidarity?
The event itself was fabulous, with three decadent courses of food, manicures, and fun swag bags. But more than anything, I really appreciate the cause that Kara Ross is trying to further, as its so, so important, and I was honored to be a part of all of it! XOXO
