One of my favorite parts of NYC is the Meatpacking District. The area’s name quite literally comes from being home to hundreds of meat packing and slaughtering houses in the previous century, which slowly then transitioned to an area full of nightclubs. Today, the area still holds many nightclubs, but also has a number of hotels (the popular Gansevoort hotel and Dream hotel), restaurants (Spice Market, Buddakan and Scarpetta, to name a few) and is home to a number of fashion designers (Diane Von Furstenburg, anyone?). The Meatpacking District is also home to the beginning of the High Line park, another one of my favorite spots in the city (stay tuned for a post soon from the High Line).
This dress is the perfect combination of what this area is about – flowy, fun and edgy. Of course, I just can’t get enough of those maxi dresses.
