This gorgeous natural wonder is located in Turkey. It is created by terraces of carbonate minerals that are left by flowing water, resulting in these travertines. Don’t forget to bring a swim suit and dip in the hot springs – the clay at the bottom of the springs is believed to have healing qualities and people have bathed in the springs for centuries.
The path leading up to the hot springs and travertines also contains the ruins of Hierapolis, a Greco-Roman and Byzantine city, and is not to be missed.
You don’t need to spend more than one day in the area, and a number of buses from big cities travel here (public and luxury) – Bodrum and Istanbul are a couple of the convenient locations.
