Mykonos is one of my favorite Greek Islands, and although the beaches are to die for, one of the things I liked best about Mykonos was actually the town. It is relatively big in comparison to the main towns of other Greek Islands, yet still manageable, and it is so easy to get lost wandering the streets – people watching and window shopping. I’ve dreamed of one day buying a house in town ever since I first visited the cute little town of Mykonos.
The town is filled with traditional blue windows and white walls, and of course the famous Mykonos windmills off in the distance complete the picture of a gregarious and warm island. If you can, visit Little Venice, which is a portion of Mykonos town that sits on the water and really reminds you of Venice, with its restaurants full of outdoor dining and drinking. It is especially breathtaking at sunset, but since there are a number of picturesque and breathtaking sunset spots in Mykonos, you better spend at least a couple days here!
